Additional Requirements : Internal Medicine

• General internist:
• Make use of most generic functionalities described above, adding the following aspects.
• Like the GP a broad perspective on the global health of the patient, however with a less extended range of problems, e.g. not dealing with pregnancy, nor orthopedics, nor pediatrics, ...
• A higher level of training, dealing with more complex situations, rare diseases, etc...
• Order many services as lab, images, consultations of super specialists, in cardiology, in neurology, etc...
• Most internist work inside hospitals.  In US they are known as "hospitalists".
• A role of coordination, like the GP, but in most cases inside hospitals and in case of critical and more complex situations, like oncology.
