CHOS-WG : Introduction to Sharable
Scenarios
version 0.2, 21 Apr 2009, Etienne Saliez
- Introduction:
- Objectives:
- In the scope of the project http://www.chos-wg.eu/
, the purpose of this chapter is to try to develop better common
understanding of what we think we would need in the future.
- Approaches:
- By means of scenarios, i.e. the description of expected most
usual sequences of events. This at 2 levels:
- Generic common scenarios:
- Starting with the most common scenarios expected to be
encountered in many patient care situations,
initially regardless of different countries, of different type of
organization, of different medical specializations, etc... from the
point of view of patient needs, who may necessitate various kinds of
care.
- Specialized extensions:
- As far as agreements will be found about the requirement
of
a generic platform, the scenarios will be extended with "additional
requirements" related to particular implementations, due to
medical specializations, cultural differences, local spoken languages,
etc...
- By means of element of working prototypes, illustrating these
concepts. We expect to learn much more in discussion in front of
pragmatic proposals. The issue is to find out how software
components could be integrated.
- Keep in mind that this kind of brainstorming
exercise and broad perspective, is very necessary before starting to
build any system. See below a schematic overview of
of the main goals of diverse healthcare departments. Of course
this schematic overview cannot take account of many overlapping between
the medical specializations.
- Care and Education
- Overview:
- ( A ) Generic scenarios:
- ( B ) Additional scenarios in specialized domains:
- Context:
- Primary care:
- Family medicine has in principle an overview of the
health of the patient, but cannot go deep in any domain and often need
the help of the specializations below in this schema.
- Emergencies, disasters,
- ...
- Type of diseases:
- Infectious diseases:
- Oncology:
- Immunology:
- ...
- Organ related issues
